Sasha Chetyrkina-Miller Named Winner of LDEI London’s 2026 Legacy Award Experience
The London Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI) is proud to announce Sasha Chetyrkina-Miller as the recipient of its 2026 Legacy Award experience, Harvesting Knowledge: Sustainable Food Systems. Presented in partnership with The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, the immersive programme will bring together leading voices in regenerative agriculture, sustainable food production, and food systems leadership across the UK and Ireland.
Hosted by the London Chapter, the experience includes time at the renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School and Organic Farm in Ireland, alongside opportunities to engage with women shaping the future of sustainable food systems through farming, education, hospitality, and advocacy.
Born in Kishinev, Moldova, Sasha immigrated to northeast Ohio in 1991 and has built a career grounded in community development, conservation, and economic justice. In 2016, she founded Purplebrown Farmstead — a 12-acre diversified farm located within Cuyahoga Valley National Park — cultivating perennial produce, cider orchards, and livestock using regenerative principles.
In 2021, Sasha expanded her work by opening Purplebrown Farm Store, a local food grocery championing organic and seasonal produce from more than 100 producers within a 100-mile radius. Alongside her work in food and farming, she also serves as an elected Village Council Member, reflecting her deep commitment to building healthier communities, economies, and environments.
Sasha was selected for her inspiring leadership, entrepreneurial vision, and commitment to creating resilient local food systems rooted in sustainability and community connection.
The London Chapter’s Legacy Award experience has been designed to offer more than professional development alone. Through mentorship, knowledge exchange, and behind-the-scenes access to leaders across the food sector, the programme aims to foster long-term international relationships and support women driving meaningful change within food and hospitality.
Since 2009, LDEI’s Legacy Awards programme has provided curated, career-transforming experiences for women in food, beverage, and hospitality. The London Chapter is proud to continue supporting the next generation of women leaders through initiatives that invest in education, mentorship, sustainability, and community impact.
