Lady Guadalupe Cocktail
Bold, vibrant and unapologetically spirited, Dame Jen Greenhalgh’s Lady Guadalupe cocktail is a celebration in a glass. Balancing the warmth of habanero with the sweetness of peach and passion fruit, and lifted by bright citrus and bitters, this striking serve reflects Jen’s flair for flavour and storytelling through drinks. Whether shared with friends or savoured slowly, it’s a cocktail that captures both fire and finesse very much in the spirit of our Dames.
Ingredients:
3 oz (85ml) tequila
1½ oz (42ml) peach schnapps
3 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp light brown sugar (or less if you prefer less sweet)
3 tsp passion fruit juice or passion fruit puree
½ habanero pepper
6 dashes Grapefruit Bitters
Method:
Muddle the habanero in a cocktail shaker with the sugar.
Add ice and remaining ingredients.
Shake vigorously.
Strain into a glass filled with ice and garnish with a dried chile.
Notes:
1. Rinquinquin (a sweet, peach infused white wine from southern France) can be used in place of peach schnapps. In that case lower the sugar.
2. Removing the seeds and pith from the habanero will tone down the heat.
